Association assists School Systems FCU with community charter expansion

750x750bbSchool Systems FCU has been granted a community charter to serve Albany, Rensselaer and Washington Counties by NCUA. The total combined population of the counties is 528,634.

Previously, the Troy-based credit union’s field of membership included 44 educational institutions, colleges, organizations and companies.

School Systems FCU CEO Mark Hatfield said he is “enthusiastic about serving this much larger and diverse field of membership,” which offers a “tremendous opportunity to grow the membership, deposits, loans and overall operation of the credit union.”

The application for the community charter expansion was written by staff from the New York Credit Union Association.
