New York CUs lead nation in financial literacy sessions

logoNew York’s credit unions led the nation last year in conducting youth financial education sessions, according to the National Youth Involvement Board. The state’s credit unions conducted more than 3,400 youth financial education lessons between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017—more than credit unions in any other state.

During that time, the state’s credit unions reached nearly 54,000 youths with financial literacy lessons, ranking fourth in the nation in that category.

Nationwide, credit unions reached 580,460 students with over 17,500 financial education sessions, according to the NYIB.
