Credit unions wishing to make a claim to a portion of the Home Depot data breach settlement fund must file the claim by Sept. 14. As previously reported in The Point, a website is available for credit unions to make a claim.
According to CUNA:
Credit unions can use the site to file a claim for part of the $25 million settlement fund. Claims can be both to request a fixed payment estimated to be $2 per compromised card and to request an additional award of up to 60% of documented unreimbursed losses experienced between Sept. 1, 2014, and Dec. 31, 2014.
CUNA, as well as leagues and credit unions, are among the plaintiffs in the lawsuit, which stems from a 2014 data breach that compromised 56 million credit and debit cards.
Questions about the process can be directed to the settlement administrator at 1-844-412-4019 or homedepotbanksettlementclaim.com.
