Staff from the New York Credit Association recently assisted Western New York FCU with a community charter expansion, which was approved by NCUA. Under their new field of membership, the West Seneca-based credit union can now serve all of Erie County, with a population of more than 919,000 individuals.

Previously, the credit union’s field of membership included the town of West Seneca and nine surrounding towns and villages.

The application for the community charter expansion was written by the Association.

“Western New York FCU is very excited to receive our expansion to serve all of Erie County,” said CEO Marie Betti, who also serves as the Association’s board chairwoman. “Our credit union has a long history within the West Seneca-area, but I also pride our organization on being forward-thinking. This expansion will allow us to bring our philosophy and services to even more consumers in Western New York.”
