Alloya Corporate FCU is now accepting applications for the 2020 Christine M. Gross Scholarship.
The scholarship allows an individual from a member credit union under $100 million in assets to attend an Alloya, New York Credit Union Association or national event by covering registration fees, hotel accommodations and travel expenses.
New for 2020 — due to a capital contribution no longer required for membership — associate members of Alloya are now eligible for a scholarship.
For more than 15 years, the CMG Foundation has awarded scholarships to small-asset credit unions with limited education budgets. In 2019, 16 scholarships were awarded, covering more than $26,000 in expenses.
Christine M. Gross, who was a senior business consultant for the corporate, was an advocate for the credit unions she represented, and smaller-sized credit unions held a special place in her heart. The CMG Foundation was established by the corporate, with its proceeds used to assist staff at smaller credit unions to defray the costs of attending educational opportunities.
In their applications, credit unions are encouraged to fully explain why they wish to receive the CMG scholarship and what they hope to gain by attending a particular event. Visit Alloya Corporate FCU’s website for more information about the scholarship and directions on how to apply.
