CUNA Mutual Group offers updated COVID-19 resources to CUs

CUNA Mutual Group has expanded its online COVID-19 support and resources and is encouraging credit unions to share the information on their websites, in newsletters and other forms of communication. Digital ads also are available for credit unions to post on their websites and print ads will be available soon, according to CUNA Mutual Group.

CUNA Mutual Group’s COVID-19 resource page was created to be a resource for credit unions, and continues to evolve as more information becomes available. The resources are organized to support CUNA Mutual Group’s “Stronger Together” campaign, which aims to demonstrate CUNA Mutual Group ’s commitment to helping people stay healthy and safe during times of crisis.

Updates include a recent risk alert provided by Risk and Compliance Solutions, which discusses the coronavirus stimulus scams targeting members, while individual product FAQs are being updated as new questions are submitted and approved.

CUNA Mutual Group has also provided credit union communications, including:

  • Tuesday, April 7: an email was sent to CEOs, CMOs and CLOs of credit unions with which CUNA Mutual Group conducts business that included a recap of CUNA Mutual Group ’s support in response to COVID-19, including product changes to Bond, LOANLINER and Loanliner.com.
  • Thursday, April 9: two emails were sent to credit unions who utilize TruStage products, highlighting the implementation of a 90-day payment deferral program (retroactive to March 12) and lending products highlighting payment deferrals and GAP skips option.

Videos also have been posted on CUNA Mutual Group ’s COVID-19 resource page, including:

  • commentary by Steve Rick, CUNA Mutual Group’s chief economist, on current economic conditions facing credit unions and what leaders need to know as they work to serve member needs; and
  • commentary by Scott Knapp, CUNA Mutual Group ’s chief market strategist, regarding public policy response to the coronavirus related to the three interconnected areas of public health, financial market and fallout in the economy.
