Credit unions are invited to participate in a complimentary COVID-19 recession webinar series titled “COVID-19 Recession and its Impact on Credit Unions” featuring Steven Rick, CUNA Mutual Group’s chief economist. The webinar will be held as a series on Thursday, April 23 and Thursday, April 30, at 2 p.m. both days.

During the April 23 session, credit union professionals can find out how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting the economy, financial sector, labor market, U.S. interest rates and ultimately credit union balance sheets and earnings performance through 2020 and 2021. Rick will analyze and establish standards against which a credit union’s performance can be measured and identify trends of savings and loan activity and weigh the influence of future economic events on growth patterns into 2021.

On April 30, Tim Harrington, a CPA and president of TEAM Resources, will explain how credit unions can respond to the COVID-19 economic impact, and based on Rick’s economic outlook, Harrington will provide practical guidance to help credit unions control their balance sheets, manage the income statements and minimize losses.
