Kendra Rubin, the New York Credit Union Association’s vice president of government affairs, is leaving the Association to join SEFCU as the credit union’s general counsel. Her last day with the Association is May 8.

“I thank Kendra for her commitment to the New York credit union movement, and I wish her well in her new role,” said Association President/CEO William J. Mellin. “While Kendra may be departing the Association, we look forward to continuing to work with her in her new capacity.”

The Association maintains strong working relationships with its outside lobbyists and is well-positioned to continue advocating on behalf of the credit union movement. Additionally, Association SVP/General Counsel Henry Meier and Legislative Analyst Sarah Cohen will continue providing in-house legislative affairs services while the Association seeks a new governmental affairs leader.

“The knowledge and opportunities I have gained during my time with the Association have been invaluable and for that, I am forever appreciative,” said Rubin. “I think it highlights the Association’s knack for identifying talent and passion for the movement that so many of those who have left the Association remain in the credit union family. I look forward to continuing to work with Bill, Henry and the rest of the Association staff, albeit in a different capacity.”
