Recognition Roundup: Mid-Hudson Valley FCU honored for COVID-19 grants

Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union has been recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals for its philanthropy to the community.

MHV FCU received the Leadership in Corporate Philanthropy Award in recognition of its COVID-19 grants distributed throughout April and May. The credit union pledged $30,000 to Hudson Valley organizations dedicated to combating food insecurities fueled by the pandemic, with each organization receiving a $5,000 grant.

The award is given to a business with operations in the Mid‐Hudson Valley that have demonstrated “the true spirit of philanthropy.” The award is part of a series of recognitions that the association sponsors as part of National Philanthropy Day.

“This recognition is especially important to us because it speaks to our commitment to the communities of the Hudson Valley,” said MHV FCU President/CEO Wayne Winkler. “As a credit union, it is this philanthropic spirit that defines us.”

Credit unions and credit union leaders receiving a significant local, state or national award are encouraged to email publications@nycua.org for recognition in the New York Minute and on the Association’s social media pages. Photos and related press releases may also be attached with the email.
