In an effort to recognize lenders that do not traditionally participate in SBA loan programs — but which became CARES Act lenders in order to make Paycheck Protection Program loans — the SBA’s Buffalo district office has acknowledged four credit unions for their efforts this year.
The following credit unions, which approved a combined 128 PPP loans that supported 439 jobs in the Buffalo area, were recognized:
- Genesee Co-op FCU
- Great Erie FCU;
- Inner Lakes FCU; and
- St. Joseph’s Parish FCU.
Accepting plaques from Paul Hoffman of the SBA’s Buffalo district office were Ben Pecora-Sanefski of member services at Genesee Co-op FCU; Robyn Young, CEO, and Michael Pierino, VP of operations at Great Erie FCU; Travis Heiser, CEO at Inner Lakes FCU; and Mike Bondanza, CEO, and Chas Kirsch, CFO and manager of St. Joseph’s Parish FCU.
Credit unions and credit union leaders receiving a significant local, state or national award are encouraged to email publications@nycua.org for recognition in the New York Minute and on the Association’s social media pages. Photos and related press releases may also be attached with the email.
