The New York Credit Union Association has named Genevieve Caputo its new director of compliance.
Caputo brings a wealth of financial experience and knowledge to the Association, beginning her over 20-year career in the financial services industry as a teller. She worked her way into the management training program at Astoria Federal Savings Bank, in both the Long Island and Queens locations, and later worked in the New York City area overseeing branches in Manhattan, the Bronx and Yonkers. She later served as sales and service manager, and then area manager, at Sunmark FCU.
While at Sunmark FCU, Caputo participated in the Association’s Capital District chapter and the Young Professionals Commission. Most recently, she worked with Nassau Financial FCU as its director of retail banking, where she was active in the Association’s Long Island chapter.
“We are pleased to welcome Genevieve to the Association in her new role as director of compliance,” said Association president/CEO William J. Mellin. “I’m confident that our credit unions will find Genevieve’s depth of experience and knowledge a valuable resource as they seek to understand and meet their regulatory compliance requirements.”
