To honor, celebrate and support Black History Month, CUES has launched the CUES Black Professional Network.
“We’re pleased to recognize and connect the credit union industry with the trusted Black-owned organizations and individuals that CUES supports and that support us,” said John Pembroke, CUES president/CEO. “CUES is committed to diversity and inclusion — not just in hiring practices, but in business partnerships and in purchasing goods and services, as well.”
In addition, two CUES podcast episodes aim to further support Black History Month. The first covers the recently concluded CUES Strategic Leadership Development Program, a year-long program focused on a group of Black leaders that provided intensive leadership development designed to build the CUSO’s leadership pipeline and prepare candidates for future senior leadership positions. The podcast features the overall experience of the program and the learnings from it.
The second podcast, which will be available Feb. 10, will feature two Black female leaders, who will discuss the challenges that women in general, and Black women in particular, face in their rise to leadership, and the challenges which continue once there. The podcasts can be accessed here.
