NCUA highlights diversity and inclusion efforts in report to Congress

The NCUA on Monday released its annual Office of Minority and Women Inclusion, or OMWI, diversity and inclusion report, citing more than 40% of new hires at the agency were people of color.

The agency’s OMWI 2021 Annual Report to Congress provides an overview of the NCUA’s diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives in 2021 and highlights the agency’s efforts to ensure fair and inclusive business practices as well as assess the diversity policies and practices of the entities it regulates.

Among the accomplishments the NCUA highlighted in its report:

“The work highlighted in this report demonstrates the invaluable and diverse perspectives, skills, and talents of everyone on the NCUA team,” said Todd Harper, NCUA chairman. “It also shows that diversity, equity, and inclusion are strengths that the NCUA and federally insured credit unions must continue to nurture.”
