Here is how to help support, defend the New York credit union movement!

A new year means a new legislative session is upon us, and with that comes a host of issues affecting the credit union movement. Advocacy is a multi-prong approach, but it starts with ensuring those who champion the credit union philosophy have the tools and resources they need to run for office.

CUPAC, New York’s Credit Union Political Action Committee, works to support state-level candidates who support credit unions, and the CUPAC Board of Trustees has set a fundraising goal of $60,000 in 2022.

CUPAC needs your support to help ensure the credit union movement remains a powerful and influential advocacy force in 2022 and beyond. State-level policymaking affects all credit unions in New York — both state and federal charters. That’s why your support is so critical. When you make a contribution to CUPAC, you’re not just donating to political action; you’re supporting the entire New York credit union movement!

We send our sincere thanks to all our 2020/2021 CUPAC contributors. We hope you will show your support for CUPAC in 2022! Visit the CUPAC donation page to make a contribution to CUPAC today.

Contributions to CUPAC are not tax deductible. Rules for state political fundraising require us to record the name and address of anyone who donates, and if the donor contributes more than $99 per year, we are also required to disclose the donor’s name and address to the New York State Board of Elections. Corporate contributions from federal credit unions are prohibited. State chartered credit unions may make a corporate contribution up to $5,000 per calendar year.
