The New York Credit Union Association is hosting four separate one-day Basic Accounting Workshops throughout the state this July. The program was created specifically for front-line credit union personnel who are not accountants.
The workshops are scheduled for the following dates and locations:
- July 18, Cornerstone Community FCU, Lockport;
- July 19, Empower FCU, Syracuse;
- July 20, New York Credit Union Association, Albany; and
- July 21, Municipal CU, New York City.
These sessions are designed to help staff understand credit union reporting and how the work they do serving members relates to the credit union’s overall finances and financial reporting. The workshops will take a practical approach to explain financial reporting without getting into technical accounting jargon. At the same time, commonly used terms will be explained so that participants will be able to understand basic terminology that is part of credit union accounting and financial reporting.
The sessions will be led by CPAs Jeffrey Paille and Grace Gonzalez of the Bonadio Group.
