The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund recently announced grants and loans to 265 CDFI-certified organizations totaling $171 million.

A number of credit unions were among the grant recipients, including the following New York credit unions:

• Alternatives FCU;
• Empower FCU;
• Neighborhood Trust FCU; and
• The Finest FCU.

The grants were awarded in the categories: Technical Assistance, Financial Assistance and Healthy Food Financing Initiative Financial Assistance.
