New York Credit Union Association President/CEO William J. Mellin and Association Compliance Director Linda Bow recently attended an Adirondack Chapter event. The meeting, which was held Oct. 11 at the Butcher Block in Plattsburgh, offered attendees a chance to learn about the latest developments in regulatory compliance and at the Association.
Bow spoke on a number of compliance-related issues, including the Military Lending Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and website compliance, and the Current Expected Credit Loss accounting standard. In addition to providing the group with updates, Bow also offered resources and tools to help attendees comply with and implement the changes.
Mellin discussed the overall strategic direction of the Association for 2018, and highlighted the Association’s focus on developing credit union leadership, as well as other educational areas the Association supports.
Mellin also provided updates on the Association’s International Credit Union Week initiatives, including the Oct. 17 credit union rally, and the Association’s business partners.
“This Adirondack Chapter event included lively dialogue and informative updates,” said Mellin. “It was a pleasure to join the credit union leaders in the chapter and discuss the Association’s priorities and strategy for advancing the state credit union movement.”
