Eric Schillinger, AVP of business development at CFCU Community CU, recently earned the Credit Union Development Educator designation from the National Credit Union Foundation. Schillinger was among 46 other credit union professionals nationwide to earn the prestigious designation after a weeklong training session in Madison, Wisconsin.

“The entire experience was certainly one of, if not, the best professional experience I’ve had in and out of the credit union movement,” said Schillinger. “The educational experience that comes along with the program is one that humbled me as a person who has been in the industry over 10 years. Additionally, it also was an experience that solidified my admiration and respect for what we strive to do for our members and our communities day in and day out.  DE reminded me why I joined the movement in the first place, why I love to come to work every day and why our movement matters.”

Schillinger noted that this accomplishment has had a positive impact in his life and fostered many key relationships along the way.

The National Foundation’s unique DE training provides critical lessons in cooperative principles, credit union philosophy and international development issues while incorporating challenges credit unions face today.
