VAC Employees FCU, a $27 million credit union with over 3,100 members, has been granted a community charter to serve Steuben County by NCUA. The population of Steuben County is 98,665.

Previously, the Bath, New York-based credit union’s field of membership included over 25 municipalities, private companies and federal employees.

Manager Brandy Holbrook said she was pleased with the assistance that the New York Credit Union Association provided in writing the credit union’s business plan to be submitted to NCUA.

“VAC EFCU and our board are excited to start a new chapter of the credit union by providing great products and services to the Steuben County residents and those working in the county,” said Holbrook. “Furthermore, the community charter is a great opportunity to grow loans, membership and deposit accounts.”

According to Holbrook, there are more changes in store for the credit union in the near future, including a name change and membership opportunities with targeted service upgrades.
