Young credit union professionals have the opportunity to apply to “crash” the 2019 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference, March 10-14, in Washington, D.C.

Event crashers are credit union young professionals who are sponsored to attend a conference at a lower cost and with additional content designed especially for them. Conference crashers receive professional development tools, meet with industry leaders, network with peers and experience each event in a dynamic way.

The “Crash the GAC” event is facilitated by the Cooperative Trust. In addition to the core schedule of events, CUNA GAC crashers will participate in exclusive workshops and mentor sessions with national credit union leaders.

Kimberley Ruiz, community development relationship manager at Bethpage FCU, was selected as a crasher last year and took away many positive experiences from the event.

“My favorite moments from the week involved hearing the keynote speakers. I felt that the individuals who spoke were very motivational and really changed my perspective on various topics,” said Ruiz. “It was great being able to network and discuss the speakers and their ideas with fellow credit union industry young professionals.”

The 2019 CUNA GAC is considered the premier event for political impact in the credit union industry, drawing thousands of credit union advocates from across the country each year. In addition to the keynote and educational session, the event also includes face-to-face meetings with some of the most influential policymakers in the country.
