Today marks the start of International Credit Union Week, and this year’s theme is “Find Your Platinum Lining in Credit Unions.” According to the World Council of Credit Unions, the theme is intended to celebrate the 70th anniversary of ICU Day.

WOCCU states that this year’s theme also signifies that, when joining a credit union, “it’s more than just a silver lining. It’s the security of other people—real members like you, sticking with you through hard times.”

ICU Day will be held this Thursday, Oct. 18. The celebration is intended to raise awareness about the great work that credit unions are doing around the world and give members the opportunity to get more engaged.

New York credit unions are encouraged to engage with the New York Credit Union Association on social media and share their International Credit Union Week initiatives.

As previously reported in The Point, the Association is facilitating a statewide advertising campaign through Gas Station TV this week. The campaign will reach more than 695 GSTV locations in every corner of the state—for an estimated 1.4 million impressions—during the week.
