New York’s credit unions are encouraged to participate in America Saves Week and Military Saves Week, which will both be held Feb. 25-March 2.

Credit unions can register as an America Saves Week participant and promote the weeklong event with the free turnkey marketing materials available on the America Saves Week website. The weeklong initiative brings together diverse nonprofit, government, academic and business groups to encourage and support Americans to save effectively.

Military Saves Week is an annual opportunity for financial institutions and other organizations to promote good savings behavior and offers a chance for service members and their families to assess their own saving status. Credit unions that serve military members can use the promotion to encourage service members and their families to save money, reduce debt and build wealth. Hundreds of organizations participate in the week, reaching millions of people.
