Pataki has had a distinguished career in public service: He was elected mayor of Peekskill, served in both the state Assembly and Senate, and he was the 53rd governor of New York, serving three terms. During the conference, Pataki will share his extensive inside knowledge of state government with New York credit union advocates.

“Gov. George Pataki is a giant in New York politics, and we’re honored that he will be sharing his insights with credit union advocates at this year’s State GAC,” said New York Credit Union Association President/CEO William J. Mellin. “Gov. Pataki has unparalleled experience in state government. I look forward to hearing him share his knowledge with the New York credit union movement.”

Credit union advocates attending the 2019 State GAC should complete and submit their Hill Meeting Request forms to help New York Credit Union Association staff secure meeting times with lawmakers. The forms should be submitted by Friday, April 13.

As a reminder, the Association has rescheduled the State GAC for April 29-30 to reflect the most recent legislative calendar. Legislative sessions are currently scheduled for both days, which should give attendees more opportunities for face-to-face meetings with lawmakers.

The State GAC will be held at the Renaissance Hotel in Albany. The conference provides attendees with opportunities to build relationships and discuss credit union issues with some of the most influential policymakers in state government. In addition, State GAC features legislative and government updates, and both formal and informal meetings with lawmakers from throughout the state.
