Western New York FCU CEO/Treasurer Marie Betti is celebrating 40 years of employment at the credit union.

Betti began her career with WNY FCU—then known as West Seneca State School CU—in March 1979 as a teller. She quickly earned a reputation as a leader at the credit union and was promoted to manager in 1986. She was named CEO in 1994 – a role she has held ever since. “It seems impossible that I could be here for 40 years,” said Betti. “It’s always been constantly changing and that is what makes each day at the WNY FCU so rewarding. I am truly blessed to have this wonderful career.”

In addition to her work with WNY FCU, Betti is active with the statewide credit union movement. She has served on the New York Credit Union Association’s board of directors since 2007, and was named chairwoman in June 2017. She also serves as the President of the Erie-Niagara Chapter Council.

“On behalf of the New York credit union movement, I congratulate Marie on this significant milestone,” said Association President/CEO William J. Mellin. “Marie exemplifies what it means to be a credit union leader. I feel privileged to have worked so closely with her during her many years on the Association’s board of directors, where she has had a tremendous positive impact on the Association and the statewide credit union movement.”
