Syracuse Common Council passes resolution supporting municipal deposits

assemblysealThe Syracuse Common Council passed a resolution today supporting municipal deposits in credit unions. The council also held a press conference announcing their public support for the legislation, A.3262 (Zebrowksi)/S.6079 (Sanders), which would allow credit unions to accept deposits from municipal corporations.

Speakers that attended this press conference included:

  • RJ Tamburri, communications director at the New York Credit Union Association;
  • Michael Greene, councilor at large, city of Syracuse;
  • Katelyn Kriesel, board president of the reinvestment alliance; and
  • Frank Cetera, board president of Cooperative Federal.

The Association has strongly supported the passage of this very important legislation for credit unions.
