The New York Credit Union Association is hosting a “Hike the Hill” event exclusively for New York credit union advocates in Washington, D.C. The two-day event will be held Sept. 23-24, and all New York credit union advocates are invited to attend.
The first day of the event will kick off at 3 p.m. with a legislative briefing at the CUNA’s Washington, D.C. offices. A networking dinner will be held later in the evening at 6:15 p.m.
Participants will spend the second day of the event meeting with federal lawmakers on Capitol Hill and advocating for pro-credit union legislation. Meetings will be scheduled 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
“Advocacy is the cornerstone of the New York credit union movement, and so many of our collective successes over the years have come as a direct result of our collaborative advocacy efforts,” said Association President/CEO William J. Mellin. “I strongly encourage all New York credit union advocates to attend this important Hike the Hill event. As the landscape in our nation’s capital continues to evolve, it’s more important than ever that New York’s credit unions speak with our members of Congress in one united voice.”
Lodging is limited, and advocates are strongly encouraged to secure their accommodations as soon as possible.
