NCUA Chairman Hood to testify before Senate, House banking committees

NCUA Board Chairman Rodney Hood will testify before the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs on Thursday, Dec. 5. Hood will be joined by Randal Quarles, vice chairman for supervision of the Federal Reserve System’s board of governors, and Jelena McWilliams, chairwoman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

The “Oversight of Financial Regulators” hearing will take place at 10 a.m. and will be streamed live on the banking committee’s website.

Additionally, House Financial Services Committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters, D-Calif., earlier announced today she will hold a hearing Dec. 4 titled “Oversight of Prudential Regulators: Ensuring the Safety, Soundness, Diversity, and Accountability of Depository Institutions.” Hood is likely to testify in that hearing as well.

The House hearing will take place at 10 a.m. and will be streamed on the committee’s website.
