The New York Credit Union Association continued its tradition of working closely with the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center this holiday season. The Association maintains a longtime and ongoing relationship with the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, and frequently partners with the organization on events throughout the year.

This year, the Association helped deliver dozens of Christmas presents to a 10-year-old girl in the hospital’s pediatric Journeys Palliative Care Program. The program provides comprehensive medical, psychosocial and spiritual palliative care aimed at lessening a child’s pain, providing emotional support to the entire family and helping a child manage distressing symptoms or feelings while focusing on daily life of the best quality.

In addition to the holiday season initiatives, the Association supports the children’s hospital in a variety of ways throughout the year, including through staff hospital visits, during which staff from the Association and OwnersChoice Funding visit the patients in the children’s hospital and lead them through art projects, crafts and different activities.

“The Association and our Affiliates have for many years worked closely with our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, and it’s a privilege to continue that partnership,” said Association President/CEO William J. Mellin. “The brave patients and families at the hospital are often going through the most trying experiences imaginable. The Association is simply doing our small part to help bring a little holiday cheer to those who deserve it.”
