The laws and regulations enacted in Albany are wide-ranging, and young credit union professionals and volunteers are in a key position to serve as advocates for the credit union movement. Young credit union professionals interested in learning more about the role that government plays in the world of financial services are encouraged to attend the 2020 State Governmental Affairs Conference Young Professionals Track, set for April 19–20 in Albany.

The event will precede the full State GAC, which is slated for April 20-21.

The track will kick off at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, with a networking event at City Beer Hall, located at 42 Howard St. in Albany. The following morning, participants will be briefed on legislative and Association updates, learn about lobbying best practices and hear a panel of credit union advocates who will discuss what it is like to advocate for credit unions at the state and federal levels.

Following the YP Track on Monday, attendees will join the State GAC, which kicks off at noon.

Additional details will be provided in upcoming editions of the New York Minute. To register, visit the Association’s website.
