Two on-demand webinars regarding deceased member accounts and restraining notices have been updated and can now be viewed on the New York Credit Union Association’s website. Both webinars are available complimentary as a benefit of Association membership.
Understanding that it can be a challenge to work with accounts upon the death of a member, the Association’s recorded webinar titled “Handling Deceased Member Accounts,” provides participants with information on topics specific to handling a deceased member account, including:
- account structures;
- beneficiaries;
- terms and definitions;
- procedures and documents; and
- trust account and estates.
An additional webinar, “Restraining Notices,” discusses both federal and state garnishments, protected income sources, calculation of protected amounts, IRS tax levies, out-of-state levies and more.
The webinars can be accessed under the Education on Demand section of the Association’s website, by clicking on “Compliance Webinars.” Log-in to the Association’s on-demand training is required to access the webinars. If a log-in is needed, contact the Association’s member relations department at member.relations@nycua.org.
