The New York Credit Union Association and other state leagues from across the country have partnered with CUNA to offer weekly complimentary webinars aimed at tackling the most important issues and subjects facing smaller-asset sized credit unions.
Geared toward credit unions with assets up to $100 million, the CUNA-League System Small CU Webinar Series, which is sponsored by CUNA Mutual Group, will include timely topics, including new member growth, technology best practices, succession planning, marketing, board engagement and much more.
Tuesday’s program set for 3 to 4:30 p.m., “Getting to Know Your Members A LOT Better and Why DEI Matters,” will focus on understanding members’ needs and the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion.
In this session, discussion will focus on:
- defining diversity, equity and inclusion;
- understanding how to break down what the perceived diversity in communities is and educate staff, boards, and members on the realities of diversity in the community through various resources;
- learning how to make the business case for DEI and how to make sure credit unions’ internal culture matches with their external culture; and
- making sure credit unions are not just talking about DEI, but instead actively showcasing their efforts.
With every league and CUNA committed to hosting a weekly webinar, sessions began Aug. 4 and are scheduled through spring 2021, allowing the Association to record and create a library of 30-plus sessions packed with ideas and actionable information to help credit unions.
