Happy International Credit Union Day! Today, we’re joining credit unions and financial cooperatives across the globe in celebrating the credit union difference. This year’s ICU Day theme is “Inspiring hope for a global community,” which is intended to capture the focus and scope of credit unions, and further explain how each credit union serves a local community globally.

“On behalf of the New York Credit Union Association, I wish the entire credit union community a wonderful and celebratory International Credit Union Day,” said New York Credit Union Association President/CEO William J. Mellin. “This is our chance to really reflect on our cooperative principles and remind ourselves what it means to be a credit union. Credit unions truly do inspire hope for the global community – and hope is something the world needs right now.”
