Merry Christmas and happy holidays on behalf of the New York Credit Union Association!
I don’t think any of us will be disappointed to leave 2020 behind; it has been a challenging year to say the least. But through it all, New York’s credit unions remained a trusted financial partner for New Yorkers when they needed one the most.
Despite everything that 2020 threw at us, the state’s credit unions found creative ways to ensure members could easily access their funds, manage their assets and perform other critical banking services. New York’s credit unions also supported local businesses and protected over 60,000 jobs by providing more than $430 million in Paycheck Protection Program loans.
Yes, there were plenty of difficulties this year, but credit unions never lost sight of their mission. Our movement has plenty to be proud of.
As you close out the year and transition to a brighter 2021, I want to remind you that the Association will continue to be here for your credit union. Whether it’s advocacy, compliance assistance, operational support, professional development, or something else entirely, the Association is dedicated and committed to the success of your credit union as we continue to work our way through this pandemic — and beyond.
We’re hopeful 2021 will bring normal days and better days. But no matter what the future holds, the Association will be here for your credit union. If we can be of any assistance at all, please reach out to us.
Wishing you, your family and loved ones all the best this holiday season.
