The Summit FCU and Reliant Credit Union have both been named to the Democrat & Chronicle’s list of 2021 top workplaces.
The top workplaces list is based on anonymous employee feedback from a third-party survey and measures aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution and connection. The survey asks for words that describe work culture, which are then assembled into a “culture cloud,” a freeform shape with the largest words representing those most frequently cited by employees.
“In The Summit’s culture cloud, the word that stands out most is ‘caring,’ said Laurie Baker, The Summit FCU’s president/CEO. “It’s a word I often use to describe our workplace. The caring actions of our employees toward each other and members is a thread that runs through everything we do. I’ve experienced it every day of the 20-plus years I’ve worked at The Summit.”
Baker said that The Summit FCU’s caring culture was even more evident this past year. “I saw that employees’ dedication to the wellbeing of our members knows no bounds. In compliance with local and state guidelines, and to keep members and employees safe, we shifted how and where we worked. And yet, the care with which our employees routinely serve members remained intact.”
Pamela Heald, president/CEO of Reliant Credit Union also cited staff dedication to members in achieving a spot on the top workplaces list. “We are proud of our culture of accountability, respect and teamwork, and are so grateful to our employees for embracing our culture, and working together to provide caring and compassionate service to our members,” said Heald.
“What matters most as a Top Workplace is when our employees enjoy what they do and are engaged in our mission,” Heald added.
