Dennis Manwaring, 72, retired CEO of Sing Sing EFCU in Ossining, passed away on Friday, Nov. 26 after an eight-year battle with cancer.

Manwaring enjoyed a long career at Sing Sing Correctional Facility prior to joining Sing Sing EFCU, from which he retired in March 2021. In his youth, he was known as an exceptional athlete, fueling a lifelong love of sports and competition. This love evolved as he followed teams religiously, coached each of his five children, and in more recent years viewed his grandchildren’s games in person and via livestream.

“The New York Credit Union Association mourns the passing of Dennis Manwaring,” said William J. Mellin, New York Credit Union Association president/CEO. “He will be missed dearly and my thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

Manwaring is survived by his wife Regina of 48 years; five children; and 10 grandchildren. Services were Monday in Ossining. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Augustine’s School, 381 N. Highland Ave, Ossining, N.Y., 10562 to fund an outdoor recreational upgrade.
