Ten New York credit unions receive CDFI grants

Financial assistance awards totaling more than $39 million have been awarded to 66 CDFI credit unions — including 10 in New York state — and financial cooperatives from Puerto Rico by the CDFI Fund.

A total of 265 CDFIs and Native American CDFI Assistance Program institutions received $180 million in financial assistance awards, according to Inclusiv, a New York Credit Union Association strategic partner.

Inclusiv, in partnership with the New York Credit Union Association, CUNA Mutual Group and industry partners, has been working to promote the value of the CDFI certification and educate credit unions about funding opportunities.

New York state credit unions receiving grants include:

  • Alternatives FCU;
  • Brooklyn Cooperative FCU;
  • Concord FCU;
  • Cooperative Federal CU;
  • Lower East Side Peoples FCU;
  • Neighborhood Trust FCU;
  • New York University FCU;
  • Oswego County FCU;
  • The Finest FCU; and
  • USAlliance FCU.
