As the current housing crisis continues to affect many families, the New York credit union community, representing credit unions across the state, along with New York Credit Union Association partners, will come together and support the Capitol Build Day 2022 — a Habitat for Humanity of New York State initiative — on Tuesday.
Habitat for Humanity of New York State, along with state legislators and volunteers, are teaming up to build a home for a hardworking New York family in Albany, literally at the bottom of the steps of the state capitol. New York state’s credit unions are the largest supporter of the event, and also sending the largest volunteer group.
“Thank you, Habitat for Humanity of New York State for hosting the event, and to all of the participating credit unions and organizations whose participation not only shows support for affordable homeownership and community reinvestment, but provides a great advocacy initiative and will bring more awareness of credit unions,” said William J. Mellin, the Association’s president/CEO.
