Up your credit union’s game with solar lending! Credit union professionals can apply now for a free solar lending professional training and certification program that will begin in September.
Inclusiv’s Center for Resiliency and Clean Energy and the Center for Impact Finance at the University of New Hampshire have launched a virtual solar lending professional training and certificate program for community-based lending institutions (credit unions, CDFIs and community banks). Inclusiv is a strategic partner of the New York Credit Union Association.
The training is free for individuals with more than one year of lending experience who work at community-based lending institutions that would like to offer solar loan products. Each training provides participants with the knowledge, skills and practices needed to engage in solar lending, including market assessment, product development, working with solar installers and developers, underwriting and deal structuring and program and asset management.
Applications are currently being accepted for the September 2022 Consumer Solar Lending cohort, which includes:
- consumer/residential solar lending training, which meets weekly Sept. 21–Nov. 16 (no class Oct. 12);
- eight instructor-led 90-minute Zoom sessions; and
- 30 hours of self-paced lectures and assignments.
