Secure your spot: Advocate for New York credit unions in Washington, D.C.!

Join us as as we Hike the Hill to advocate for initiatives that impact New York state credit unions!

There is still time to register for the New York Credit Union Association’s Hike the Hill event, set for Sept. 2829 in Washington, D.C. The registration deadline for the Association’s room block at the Courtyard Washington Downtown/Convention Center, located at 901 L St. N.W., expired Sept. 9, however interested advocates can still register for the event through Friday, Sept. 16.

New York Credit Union Association leadership and credit union advocates will meet with legislators on Capitol Hill to discuss initiatives that directly impact New York state credit unions — including solutions to provide legal cannabis banking services, expanding financial access to underserved communities and more.

These timely meetings, which will be held all day Wednesday, Sept. 28 and approximately 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Sept. 29, will give credit union advocates the opportunity to discuss legislative matters that influence everyday operations and procedures in New York state with our members of Congress.

The event will also include a Credit Union Night, a reception with legislators, on Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Credit Union House. The event will be a great opportunity for policymakers to meet credit union executives from across the state and learn about the important work that they do for New York families. Light hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served.

Advocacy is the cornerstone of the Association and its statewide credit union movement. Through our collective and collaborative efforts — and your participation — we’re able to influence public policy and help shape national and state laws and regulations that have a direct impact on New York’s credit unions.

Interested participants can register for the event on the Association’s website.
