Hike the Hill: We’re advocating for New York credit unions in Washington, D.C. this week!

Credit union advocates from across the state will join New York Credit Union Association leadership to Hike the Hill Wednesday and Thursday in Washington, D.C.

Hike the Hill participants will meet with legislators on Capitol Hill to discuss initiatives that directly impact New York state credit unions — including solutions to provide legal cannabis banking services, expanding financial access to underserved communities and more.

These timely meetings will give credit union advocates the opportunity to discuss legislative matters that influence everyday operations and procedures in New York state with our members of Congress.

The event will also include a Credit Union Night, a reception with legislators, on Wednesday evening at the Credit Union House. The event will be a great opportunity for policymakers to meet credit union executives from across the state and learn about the important work that they do for New York families.

Advocacy is the cornerstone of the Association and its statewide credit union movement. Through our collective and collaborative efforts — and New York credit union representatives’ participation — we’re able to influence public policy and help shape national and state laws and regulations that have a direct impact on New York’s credit unions.

Take in all the action, and like and share, on the Association’s Facebook page! If you’re there, please share your photos!
