That’s a wrap! 2022 Hike the Hill highlights

New York credit union advocates attending the New York Credit Union Association’s 2022 Hike the Hill event capped off a busy few days meeting with legislators in Washington, D.C. last week

Credit union leaders from around the state met with legislators on Capitol Hill and discussed initiatives that directly impact New York state credit unions — including solutions to provide legal cannabis banking services, expanding financial access to underserved communities, potential impacts of the Credit Card Competition Act and more

Credit union advocates and Association leaders met with the following legislators and/or offices:

  • Rep. Paul Tonko, (D-NY 20);
  • Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY 16);
  • Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-NY 7);
  • Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY 22);
  • Rep. Patrick Ryan (D-NY 19);
  • Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY 6);
  • Rep. Brian Higgins (D-NY 26);
  • Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY 18);
  • Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY 20);
  • Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY 11);
  • Rep. Andrew Garbarino (R-NY 2);
  • Rep. Joseph Morelle (D-NY 25); and
  • Rep. Joe Sempolinski (R-NY 23).

Credit union advocates also met with New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, a longtime friend and supporter of credit unions, as previously reported.
