Credit union leaders from across the state recently gathered in the historic town of Cooperstown, NY, the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. The visit was to take part in a joint planning session hosted at The Otesaga Resort Hotel.
In attendance were the New York Credit Union Association (NYCUA) Board of Directors, New York Credit Union Foundation (NYCUF) Trustees, Universal Sharing Network, Inc. (UsNet) Board of Directors, and NYCUA Management.
The focal point for discussion was, “The Future of Credit Unions.” All sessions provided a forum to share ideas and insights, discuss industry trends, and to develop new strategies for success in an ever-changing financial landscape.
“There’s always a positive outcome when we’re able to gather the Association and Affiliate Boards,” said William J. Mellin, Association President/CEO. “We have credit union leaders that come from institutions with varying asset sizes ranging from under $100 million to over $1 billion. What makes this dynamic so successful is that by pooling our individual experiences and collective expertise, we can create a strong, more resilient credit union movement. This in turn leads to a positive future for all credit unions.”
The sessions were facilitated by Shawn Temple of On The Mark Strategies. Shawn has served the credit union industry since 1996 and specializes in helping leadership teams find clarity and alignment for their organizations. For Shawn’s full background please click here.
