Association welcomes new Compliance Director Linda Bow

LindaBowThe New York Credit Union Association has hired Linda Bow as the Association’s new director of compliance. Bow, who holds a master’s degree in business ethics and compliance, brings nearly 20 years of financial services experience to the Association.

“I’m excited to join the Association, and I’m looking forward to getting to know the professionals and volunteers at credit unions throughout New York,” said Bow. “Credit unions should be focused on carrying out their mission, but increasingly burdensome regulations have created barriers for many institutions. I hope the state’s credit unions will continue to lean on the Association for expert compliance assistance and analysis so they can focus on what’s important: serving their members.”

Bow most recently served as a senior officer at a financial services company, where she was responsible for developing and facilitating compliance training and overseeing the department’s scheduled regulatory reviews.

Prior to that, Bow served as vice president of operations at a financial institution, where she oversaw regulatory compliance for the processing and underwriting departments.

“Linda brings extensive compliance and leadership experience to the Association, and we’re excited to welcome her to the New York credit union movement,” said Association president/CEO William J. Mellin. “As rules and regulations continue to evolve, I’m confident that our credit unions will find Linda to be a trusted resource as they seek to understand and meet their regulatory compliance requirements.”
