Notably, Dennis Dollar, the former NCUA board chairman, is slated to speak at this year’s Northeast Economic Forum. Dollar, who is the principal partner of the consulting firm Dollar Associates, was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as chairman of the NCUA board in 2001. He was first named to the board in 1997.

In his capacity as NCUA chairman, Dollar also served as vice chairman of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, which is responsible for coordinating the examination and supervision programs of the five federal financial regulatory agencies.

Prior to being appointed to the NCUA board, Dollar served as president and CEO of what is now Gulf Coast Community FCU in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was also a two-term member of the Mississippi House of Representatives.

Today, Dollar runs Dollar Associates, a consulting firm that focuses specifically on credit union issues.

Dollar will address the Northeast Economic Forum attendees on Aug. 15, the first day of the event. His session will focus on what he believes the future of the credit union movement will look like, and specifically where he believes credit unions will be in the 2025 marketplace.
