Staff from the New York Credit Union Association joined advocates from the Adirondack Chapter for a district meeting with Assemblyman Billy Jones. The meeting was held last Thursday, Sept. 21, in Plattsburgh.

During the meeting, the advocates had a chance to discuss priority state-level credit union legislation with Jones, a freshman Democrat from Chateaugay. The conversation focused on the New York credit union movement’s state-level legislative agenda, including legislation dealing with municipal deposits, the Banking Development Districts Program, and more.

The meeting also gave attendees a chance to thank Jones for his support on several important bills he has cosponsored.

In addition to the Association, the following credit unions were represented at the meeting:

  • Peru FCU;
  • UFirst FCU;
  • Dannemora FCU; and
  • SeaComm FCU.
