New York Credit Union Association General Counsel Henry Meier testified Thursday before the state Senate Committee on Consumer Protection. During his testimony, Meier called for stringent data security standards for all entities that collect or store personal or financial data.

He also pushed for a reimbursement provision that would allow financial institutions to recoup costs associated with data breaches at merchants.
