October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month, and NCUA has a variety of resources to help credit unions and their members guard against cyberattacks.
NCUA is providing information, including regulations and guidance, on its Cybersecurity Resources page. For consumers, NCUA’s MyCreditUnion.gov and its financial literacy microsite, Pocket Cents, offer tips to help consumers protect their finances.
As a reminder, the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council—of which NCUA is a member—also has their own Cybersecurity Awareness web page. The site includes resources that can help management and directors of financial institutions better understand supervisory expectations, increase awareness of cybersecurity risks, and assess and mitigate the risks facing their institutions.
