Best-selling author Marcus Buckingham will be a keynote speaker at the 2020 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference, which will be held Feb. 23–27, in Washington, D.C.
Buckingham is a respected advisor to employers in a range of fields, encouraging them to focus on employees’ strengths instead of trying to improve their weaknesses. He draws on a breadth of human resources knowledge from his extensive research and nearly two-decade career as a senior researcher at the Gallup Organization. He founded The Marcus Buckingham Company in 2006, with a mission to instigate a “strengths revolution.”
Buckingham will share insights from his seven books, including “StandOut,” a New York Times and Wall Street Journal best seller. He will also discuss working with some of the country’s largest businesses, including Toyota, Facebook, Coca-Cola, Microsoft and Disney.
The CUNA GAC is considered the premier event for political impact in the credit union industry, drawing thousands of credit union advocates from across the country each year. In addition to the keynote and educational sessions, the event also includes face-to-face meetings with some of the most influential policymakers in the country.
