CFPB reports assistance to more than 12 million consumers during 2019


The CFPB announced in its annual report that it delivered digital and print resources to more than 12 million consumers during 2019.

The bureau’s 2019 Financial Literacy Annual Report details the CFPB’s efforts to provide information and guidance regarding consumer financial products and services available to Americans, including traditionally underserved consumers and communities, during the past year.

The report includes details on the bureau’s new initiative launched in 2019, “Start Small, Save Up,” a program created in an effort to encourage consumers to save money and work toward becoming better prepared for emergencies and unplanned expenditures.

The bureau also launched a savings boot camp, which CFPB describes as a multi-week email course to guide people through the fundamentals of savings.
