Elder financial exploitation, COVID-19 scams topic of June 11 NCUA consumer financial protection webinar

Credit unions and their members can receive updates on elder financial exploitation and other COVID-19-related scams during a webinar hosted by NCUA at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 11.

The webinar, “Consumer Financial Protection Issues Impacting Older Adults,” will feature representatives from NCUA’s Office of Consumer Financial Protection, the CFPB’s Office of Financial Protection for Older Americans and the SEC’s Office of Investor Education and Advocacy, which will provide:

an update on how consumer financial protection issues are impacting older adults;
new information on COVID-19-related scams; and
other fraud prevention strategies and resources.
